Legis Symposium on DBAs

On the afternoon of 27 September 2019, leading law firm representatives, barristers, and academics from the UK and the US met at the Orangery at Beaverbrook Hotel in Surrey discuss and debate the role damages-based agreements (DBAs) should play in the English legal system. The symposium, sponsored and designed by Legis Finance, was entitled “The Promise and Prospect of Damages-Based Agreements: Evolution or Revolution in Litigation Finance.” The symposium prominently featured keynote remarks by Sir Rupert Jackson, who introduced DBA’s as part of the seminal Jackson Reforms of Civil Litigation Costs.
